Evolution Of Very Healthy Diets

Friday, July 25th, 2008

C. Bluestein asked:

First there is S.A.D. (standard American diet). This diet makes people fat and sick. Then there is the vegetarian diet. All plant foods have plenty of fiber unless it is taken out like with refined wheat and white rice. Animal foods have no fiber. Fiber keeps your colon clean and healthy reducing your chances of cancer and cardiovascular problems. Thousands of studies show that fruit and vegetables prevent cancer. Meat encourages the growth of cancer.

The Chinese eat mostly plant foods and have a much lower rates of cancer and cardiovascular disease than Americans. Plant foods have a lot of unsaturated fat while meat has a lot of saturated fat. The unsaturated fats are healthier for you than the saturated fats. Some vegetarians eat eggs and dairy products. Dairy products create sinus and respiratory problems. Since cookies and jelly beans are vegetarian, people can eat a very unhealthy vegetarian diet. The basic rule to eating healthy is to eat foods made by God or nature and avoid foods made by man that are designed to make you fat and addicted to food since that is best for their business.

Albert Einstein, Leonardo Da Vinci, Socrates and Pythagoras were vegetarians. Current vegetarians include Brad Pitt, Pamela Anderson, Dustin Hoffman, Kate Winslet, William Shatner, Avril Lavigne, Paul Newman, Chelsea Clinton (daughter of President Bill Clinton and Senator Hillary Clinton), Paul McCartney, Shania Twain, Paul Newman, Drew Barrymore, Clint Eastwood and Allysa Milano.

Then there is the more restrictive vegan diet that Natalie Portman and Alicia Siverstone follow. This means eating no animal products including dairy products. Then there are even more restrictive diets than this. One is the fruitarian diet where people eat only fruit. This includes foods that come from the reproductive system of the plant like nuts, seeds, eggplant, cucumbers, squash, tomatoes and more. With this diet, no plants are killed or harmed. The one that is popular now is the raw food movement. Raw foodists eat only raw food or mostly raw food and this food is also vegan food.

This diet is close to how animals eat. But there is a diet that is just like what the animals use. The animals know what is good for them by instinct. How does it work? They just eat whatever tastes good. Humans also have this instinct. They eat raw food and whatever tastes good is good for them. This way you do not need to worry if the oxalic acid in spinach prevents the absorption of calcium or if oranges are bad for people with certain blood types and all this nonsense. This is why babies are always putting things in their mouth. Theirinstinct will tell them if it is bad for them. Note that man can make rat poison that tastes like healthy food but kills the rat. So eating the foods that tastes the best does not include foods altered or cooked by man.

Put raw poisonous mushrooms (toadstools) in your mouth and you will spit them out since they taste so bitter. But if they are cooked, you can eat them and die. So if you are stranded in the woods with no food, you can use this to find good food to eat. It is possible to overeat raw foods when they are mixed together. But animals in nature eat only one food at a time. If you do this, then you will never overeat a food. You will not want any more when you have had enough. This is how the animals eat. Also this applies to any raw food even if it is not vegetarian.

This diet is called the instincto diet. People on this diet will try eating anything rawIt could be that many of the benefits of eating raw food comes from not eating any (or very little) salt. Salt is not a food. Put 3 ounces of salt in water and drink it and you will die. Salt causes water to not be able to work. That is why you can die of dehydration being on a raft in the ocean surrounded by billions of gallons of water. Vitamins and minerals have a minimum R.D.A. (recommended daily allowance). But sodium has a maximum R.D.A.

Kevin Trudeau (author of Natural Cures) believes that the raw food diet is the healthiest diet but he does not follow it now. He says that some day he may follow it. There are health experts that are against eating 100% raw. But (and this is a big but) they don’t suggest what percentage of raw food is best, whether it be 95% or 5%. By not eating meat, you do more to help the ecology of the planet and protect against global warming than doing anything else including switching to a hybrid car. In a groundbreaking 2006 report, the United Nations (U.N.) said that raising animals for food generates more greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide) than all the cars and trucks in the world combined! Strawberry Fields for Heather

Gerry McDonnell asked:

I absolutely despise Valentines Day. Conformity demands that I waste good money on a pointless gift and a meaningless card, even though the wife has spent the last 364 days of the year criticising me for being lazy. I’d happily dump her; but it’s a lot of effort to find someone new.

Paul McCartney has taken the brave step of officially ending his ill-fated relationship. For me, he’s definitely made the correct decision, even if it does cost him an arm and a leg.

While Paul and I understand that love is a complete fallacy, there are still a minority who believe in the romance of the FA Cup. The reality is that the minnows just make up the numbers until the trophy is lifted by one of the big 4, or Liverpool.

Rafa Benitez has pointed the finger at the Yanks for their relegation from the elite. You can blame the Americans for many things: Middle East instability, nuclear war, terrorism, global warming, 9/11 and fat children, but they didn’t rest Torres against Birmingham. I hope Rafa takes the FA Cup seriously, as I’m on the Reds at 1/5 against Barnsley.

The liveliest atmosphere of the 5th Round will probably be at Coventry, where West Brom will be arriving with 8,000 screaming Yam Yams. I’ll definitely be going out of my way to avoid Coventry this weekend; although the words ‘this’ and ‘weekend’ are pretty much superfluous. The Baggies look a fair shout at 7/5 to leave victorious.

David James continues to surprise me. There were times when I thought he would prove a major liability; those times were 1990 – 1996 and 1998 – 2007. With Calamity in this kind of form, you have to believe that Preston have a tougher job on their hands than Helen Chamberlain’s makeup artist. I’ll be made up when Pompey advance at 10/11.

It will be somewhat ironic if Middlesbrough put an end to Bryan Robson’s managerial career. It was at the Boro where Robbo first made his name; I think it was ‘Jim Beam’. Robson may well be interested in the odds for a Middlesbrough win over Sheffield United; 7/5 is a little short.

Cardiff have come a long way since the Sam Hammam era, when new signings were contractually obligated to enjoy a physical liaison with a sheep. That controversial clause was widely criticised at the time, but it did lead to Franck Ribery asking for a trial. Things are a lot more stable at Ninian Park today; they have Peter Ridsdale in the boardroom. The chairman can buy another goldfish when the Bluebirds slaughter the Wolves at 11/8.

Southampton will still be without a manger for their trip to Bristol Rovers. The Saints did try to rehire Glenn Hoddle, but he wanted to discuss his options with a likeminded friend, so he’s waiting for Paul McCartney’s divorce proceedings to end. I’ll be on Bristol Rovers at 2/1 to see off the Saints; although I’ll stay away from the handicap.

After finding the net in his last nine matches, Emmanuel Adebayor will be hoping to reach a perfect 10 against Manchester United. I’m not normally one to boast, but I once dated a German girl who was very close to being a ‘10’. She was extremely arrogant though: she knew she was a ‘9’, and she wouldn’t shut up about it while making love. I’m screaming about the 9/4 for a draw between Manchester United and Arsenal.

Like Helga, Avram Grant always appears deeply unhappy. As an Israeli, Grant has seen some distressing sights through the years, although nothing could prepare him for the picture of the hairdresser who gave Ashley Cole a little trim. I’ll throw up if Chelsea fail to beat Huddersfield at 1/10.

For Cheryl Cole and Heather Mills, Valentines Day will be a depressing affair. My wife will be genuinely excited though, as she loves to eat a mountain of chocolate on this special occasion - it’s a weekday. Cardiff, Chelsea, Liverpool, Middlesbrough and Portsmouth form a 12/1 accer that will allow me to purchase an extra large bar of Toblerone.

The London Eye - not to be Missed

Paul Leach asked:

A Monument of the Millennium that’s More

than Meets the Eye

When the London Eye was first built, it was the largest observation wheel in the world. Since that time, the Star of Nanchang opened in 2006; meanwhile, The Singapore Flyer is scheduled for its opening in early 2008. Nonetheless, as technology improves and bigger Ferris wheels are constructed, these followers will never diminish the glimmer of the London Eye.

Also called the Millennium Wheel, this remarkable structure is well-named in either case. It was built in 1999 and is nestled on the west end of the Jubilee Gardens, on the South B ank of the River Thames. It is also situated between Westminster and Hungerford Bridges. As you glide 135 metres above central London, the Eye allows you to see the beauty of this famous city as never before, with each capsule welcoming about 25 passengers to its sealed and air conditioned seating area.

And, just so everyone has the best view possible, each capsule also rotates. This takes approximately thirty minutes but there’s no need to worry about whether you’ll get the full affect. This is true because the wheel itself rotates very slowly. Because of this leisurely pace, it does not even stop as guests board and exit its capsules. The only exception to this rule, of course, is when elderly or disabled visitors need some extra time.

More than Just a Ride on the Observation Wheel

Taking a ride on a tremendously large Ferris wheel may not seem like much to everyone. But, to those who truly appreciate an outstanding view of an Old World city like London, the Millennium Wheel is spectacular. If this is you, remember that you’re not alone in your opinion. The fact is that the London Eye has become a centerpiece of the city. Each New Year’s Eve, local residents and tourists flock to central London to watch a fireworks show, during which 10 minutes worth of fireworks are displayed right from the London Eye. In fact, 150,000 people partook in these festivities as they brought in the New Year for 2007.

Another event that testifies to the importance of the London Eye took place in August 2007. The Eye was temporarily renamed as The McCartney Eye after the Beatle’s Paul McCartney. This gesture was made to celebrate the release of a McCartney related DVD collection titled “The McCartney Years.” Most likely, you’re aware of the Beatles’ significance not only in Great Britain but all over the world. Still, it’s difficult to decide who is most distinguished in this case, the London Eye or Paul McCartney. Perhaps it depends on your perspective.

Whether you’re interested in getting on the ride just for fun or booking a special event, this breath-taking monument has accommodations for everyone. Children under age five are free while those ages five to fifteen are only £7.50. Last but not least, adult tickets can be purchased for only £15.00. Of course, the London Eye has quickly evolved into a unique, even romantic place for special events. Thus, for £29.00, you may book a champagne capsule. This grants you exclusive use of the capsule, your own host and drinks.

Are you a bachelor looking for the perfect place to propose? A marriage proposal overlooking the shimmering city lights would surely make her eyes sparkle. And, the possibilities don’t end there. The London Eye is also open for weddings and civil partnership ceremonies with the price staring at only £17.00.

Maybe you’re a local resident of London who’s heard time and time again that you must go for a ride, at least once. Or, maybe you’re a visitor to the city, enchanted by this picturesque London Eye. Either way, this magnificent machine is certainly worth your time.

Let Out The Athlete In You

Todd Winslow asked:

Adidas is a name that has a thunderous ring in the sports industry. Primarily focusing on the manufacture of clothing and shoes that appeal to athletes, professional sports stars, and the hobbyists alike, this German company was able to soon dominate the market with its superior products. Even though financial scandals netted the company some less than flattering headlines in the 1980s and 1990s, the quality of Adidas shoes, clothing, warm up gear, and jogging apparel are too superior to other brands and the apparel giant was able to simply slough off the bad press by separating itself from those who caused the headlines.

In what many consider a stroke of genius, Adidas entered into a highly successful partnership with Stella McCartney - yes, she is the daughter of the Sir Paul McCartney - who has built a reputation not on her parentage but on her ability to design clothing and fashion accoutrements that are highly sought after. Designing jackets for the Adidas store, she even has fashioned one of them to read “suitable for sporty vegetarians” which adds contemporary style to athletic chic.

With Adidas, you will most likely be impressed by their wide selection of shoes. Adidas shoes, whether you are looking for the famous Adidas soccer shoes or the Adidas running shoes, are probably some of the most recognized footwear in the world. The Adidas 1 is the new flagship of the line; it incorporates the use of a microprocessor to impart the ultimate comfort and support to its wearer.

At this point in time, Adidas soccer sponsorships have made the brand visible and the Adidas classics, the NBA jackets, and the Adidas superstar collection have brought many new customers into the stores. Considered retro by some, the Adidas originals and even some of the well used Adidas jackets are flying off the shelves in the specialty stores and even eBay has begun to exhibit more and more collectible Adidas wear. Giving back to the community, the company sponsors the Ateneo de Manila University team as well as a number of American teams.

Quite possibly a revolutionary program that the company has unveiled is Mi Adidas. While the idea of customizing articles used during athletic endeavors is not new, the fact that an athlete can now adapt a shoe to fit her or his personal footwear needs is indeed new and in the past carried with it a hefty price tag. Yet by allowing this process to be offered to athletes worldwide via the Internet, the sheer amount of consumer demand has permitted the prices to remain lower than you would expect and it is this spectacular service that sets apart Adidas from the rest of the sportswear manufacturers and showcases its commitment to the serious athlete and the novice sports man or woman alike.
